On August 6, a combined detachment of firefighters from across the country arrived in Greece to help fight large-scale forest fires. To fulfill the task of President Volodymyr Zelensky and the decision of the Government, a hundred rescuers of the State Emergency Service with the necessary equipment took off from Kyiv Airport.

Addressing the personnel before the departure, the Head of the State Emergency Service Mykola Chechotkin stressed that many European countries are currently suffering from large-scale fires. "You all have experience in fighting fire in the Exclusion Zone, in Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. Now our Greek colleagues need it. I wish you success and strength for this struggle. Whatever tasks you face, the main thing to remember is safety. Return home safe and sound, to your relatives", Mykola Chechotkin emphasized.

Greek firefighters will be assisted by rescuers from nine regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv.
